Dressed to kill (dragons)

Eve is really into acting out stories. She is pretty familiar with "The Magic Flute" (yeah, the opera, by Mozart). We've been watching the Ingmar Bergman version- she doesn't seem to mind that it's in Swedish (for some reason I thought it was German, but no, Swedish). We fast-forward through the boring parts (it's over 2 hours long), but still. She CHOOSES this, over things like Thomas and Handy Manny.

So anyway, now she wants to "play Magic Flute" all the time. This means that we have to act out all the interesting scenes, in order. Each of us plays multiple roles, and stuffed animals help fill out the cast. Sometimes Silverton makes a cameo appearance as Sarastro. Her favorite scenes are the dragon chase at the beginning, and the snowball fight.

She also likes to act out pretty much every book we read to her.

Playing "dress-up" is big now, too. She has a large basket of dress-up clothes- tutus, hats, a construction-worker vest, necklaces, and other accessories. After she has dressed herself, Mommy, and Daddy, (and has been dissuaded from dressing up the cat), she starts dressing her babies and stuffed animals. She calls it her "crowd", and says that "Everyone is wearing their very best clothes."
